Ramiro Aguirre is a singer and percussionist born in Paris, France, to parents from Manzanillo, Cuba. Music was woven into his life from childhood — his father Eduardo Aguirre was the leader and flutist of Charanga Tipica Tropical, and Ramiro began playing timbales and recording with the group at just 14 years old. That early start launched a career spanning more than two decades, during which he has recorded over 25 albums and earned numerous awards in the tropical music genre.
Throughout his career, Ramiro has had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the most celebrated names in Latin music, including Celia Cruz, Nestor Torres, Rey Ruiz, Israel Lopez “Cachao,” Hansel y Raúl, Charanga 76, Charanga Casino, and Roberto Torres. Today he leads his own All Star Group of Musicians, blending powerful vocals, exceptional percussion, and authentic Charanga arrangements that keep the sounds of tropical music alive for audiences of all generations across South Florida and beyond.
